The troops of the Defence Forces and their equipment constitute the capabilities of Finland’s defence system, the development of which is long-term and based on thorough planning. The Defence Forces Logistics Command participates in this work in all of its phases.

The Explosives Centre is responsible for the production, maintenance and decommissioning of explosives in the Defence Forces.

The National Codification Bureau Finland is the national agency in charge of managing the codification of the Defence Forces’ materiel under the supervision of the Defence Command Logistics Division.

11.5.2026 | Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has authorised the Defence Forces Logistics Command to procure thermal clip-on optics, related equipment, and spare parts for sniper and designated marksman rifles. The value of the procurement, excluding value-added tax, is approximately EUR 24.5 million.

6.7.2026 | An international naval mines cooperation (NMC) project concerning the common procurement of naval mines has advanced to the framework agreement phase. As a representative of the lead nation, the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command has signed a contract in 25.6. with the Finnish company Forcit, on procuring the Blocker Influence Mine for the participating countries. So far Finland, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania and Norway have joined the project.

21.5.2026 | The second Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvette to be built for the Navy has been launched in Rauma. The vessel was moved from the construction hall to the dock basin where the building and outfitting of the vessel will continue. A festive launch ceremony was celebrated in Rauma on 21 May.

26.5.2026 | Norway has signed the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) Framework Agreement which allows serial procurement of CAVS 6x6 vehicles. The CAVS Framework Agreement has been already signed between Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany and Denmark.

24.2.2026 | Hull assembly of the second Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvette being built for the Finnish Navy was completed at the turn of the year at the Rauma shipyard. The vessel has received its grey protective coating, and part of the protective covering has been removed.
