Helicopters from the UK to participate in the Utti Jaeger Regiment’s flight activity

The British Army’s helicopter detachment will participate in the flight activity of the Utti Jaeger Regiment’s Helicopter Battalion in an exercise to be held during 29 April – 1 June 2024.

The UK flight detachment participating in the Utti Jaeger Regiment's exercise will comprise three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and the personnel required by the flight activity, altogether less than 100 personnel in total.

The objective of the exercise is to develop interoperability and joint operating between the helicopter detachments of Finland and the UK, and to exercise the brigade-level units in joint operating with helicopters as part of the Army comprehensive combined training this spring.

From the Helicopter Battalion the exercise will be participated by NH90 and MD500 helicopters. 

The helicopter activity of the Utti Jager Regiment’s training exercise will focus on southern Finland, but flight activity may be conducted also in other parts of Finland.  The objective is to exercise in varying terrain and light conditions at all times of day and night. 

The flight activity may cause noise disturbance.

The exercise is part of the decided Finnish Defence Forces’ international training exercise co-operation for 2024.

The Finnish Airforce will host the UK helicopters participating in the Arrow 24 exercise
